OW Kitten Rescue was founded with the goal of rescuing cats in need from the townships of Wethersfield, Rocky Hill and Newington, CT.
Whether it's an injured adult male cat in need of medical care, or a pregnant momma cat looking for a safe place to delivery her kittens, we believe every single one of them deserves a chance at a happy life.

Rescue Kittens are beyond adorable, and we think ours are the absolute cutest!
Rescued from the suburbs, these littles are often the product of an unwanted or lost female cat that found herself outside and alone. Once notified by members of our community, we work quickly to secure these tender souls and bring them to safety.
Following their medical and socialization assessment, we pair them up with the purrfect foster to care for them before formal adoption takes. Sometimes, our kittens require their new families to go slow and provide them additional time to decompress and gain their trust.
The result? Pure magic!

Rescue Cats are the true gems!
Many of the adult cats we rescue are either lost or abandoned pets. Once identified by members of our community, we collaborate with local animal control to ensure they aren't simply "outdoor" cats or a lost pet and scan them for a microchip. Once confirmed available for adoption, we assess their personality and any medical care needs they may have and pair them with a foster, who will work with them to reestablish trust in the human race. It's not easy, but it's so rewarding. Once these gentle souls realize they are safe, they begin to relax and show their amazing personalities. Their "person" is sure to enjoy a loving companion for the rest of their lives.

First, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application. Once your Adoption Application is approved, we contact you to discuss available cats, send photos or videos of cats and schedule a "Meet n' Greet" if requested. If the meeting goes well, you can take the cat home immediately following the completion of their veterinary care.
As we are a foster-based rescue, we do not have an official "shelter" where the public can meet adoptable cats. Once Adoption Applications are approved, all prospective adopters may schedule a Meet n' Greet with our Adoption Manager, who will coordinate a day and time for the foster to bring available cats to our central office in Old Wethersfield.
