Rescue is Addictive!

Don't say we didn't warn you!

That's right, once you rescue and experience the joy of saving a cat's life, the feeling can be exhilarating!

In fact, the actual process of rescue can be downright addictive.  What do we mean?

Interacting with animals through petting, playing or simply being in their presence triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural stress reliever. This positive interaction can significantly enhance mental well-being, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote a sense of happiness and calm.

Couple that feeling with the knowledge of saving a life and you'll want to do it again and again!

Rescue

Our rescue efforts are strategic and purposeful.

We only serve the needs of local communities of Wethersfield, Rocky Hill and Newington, CT where we can truly see the benefits of our efforts come to life.

We work closely with members of our community to:

Identify, locate & rescue cats in need.

Track our rescue efforts and identify any "hot spots" that may indicate a feral cat colony is present.

Provide veterinary and emergency medical care to those in need.

Assess level of socialization of cats and provide safe space for cats to decompress and feel safe.

Match cats up with the most complimentary family and home environment to ensure both cat & family are happy.

Trap Neuter & Release "TNR"

It's hard to imagine, but not all cats what to be rescued.

Some cats that have lived outside for several months or years, actually prefer the freedom of the outdoors. Wandering, exploring nature and of course hunting.

A big part of what we do, is to ensure we release those cats who truly are deemed "wild" so they may live out their lives outside where they truly are at home.

This is where Trap, Neuter, Release "TRN" comes into play and when we identify a feral colony within our community, it's our goal to:

Identify and address any injuries or medical needs.

Assess level of socialization of cat.

Neuter or spay cat to keep population in check.

Ensure feral cats are properly vaccinated to reduce the spread of disease.

Tip the cat's ear to delineate them from other intact outdoor cats.

Identify caregivers to provide food on a regular basis and

Monitor colony.
